On September 1, 2017, the national key research and development plan "Near-zero CO2 coal gasification power generation technology" project kick-off meeting undertaken by Shenhua Group Co., Ltd. was held in Beijing. Relevant personnel from the Ministry of Science and Technology, project leaders and various subjects were responsible More than 60 people, including representatives of the project leader Shenhua Group Co., Ltd. and project participants attended the meeting

 

The project aims to master the mechanism of CO2 near-zero emission IGFC power generation, system design, and key equipment manufacturing technology, and build the world's first MWth-level CO2 near-zero emission IGFC demonstration system with independent intellectual property rights, and form a 100-megawatt-level CO2 near-zero emission The IGFC system program and process package contribute to the current national coal-based energy carbon emission reduction.

 

Project leader, Academician Peng Suping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the meeting and delivered a speech. At the meeting, Academician Peng Suping proposed that the research content of the project should be innovative, forward-looking and time-effective. Innovation refers to the creation of a theoretical system of IGFC technology with near-zero CO2 emissions; the establishment of the world's first MWth-level CO2 near-zero emissions IGFC demonstration system; and the construction of a CO2 capture and conversion technology framework based on IGFC. Forward-looking means that the United States, Japan, Europe and other countries have formulated IGFC development plans, and my country also lists IGFC as a strategic new energy technology, which is in line with the future energy development direction. Timeliness refers to my country’s commitment to reach the peak of CO2 emissions in 2030, and the development of IGFC technology must be able to meet the current major national coal-based energy carbon emission reduction needs.
